Curious...

It's fine and great that the Americans are all over wanting people to vote for the upcoming Presidential election, which is just a stone's throw away really. But - why don't we have messages like this for our upcoming Canadian election which is even closer in date? It's like we don't care enough to encourage people to vote...

It kind of just makes you want to break into song...

Probably one of the best commercials I have seen in a while. It just kinda, turns that frown upside down.

Too bad hurricanes suck so much.

On the plus side, Rick Sanchez is back on tv. Holla!

This guy is intense. Like, he has the incredible talent of making anything 800-times more dramatic than it actually is.

And don't even start with the comb-over... he's probably balder than Mike Morrison...

Update: Who knew Rick was on twitter??

Beijing Olympics eye candy.

I have never been into the Olympics. All those athletes bring me back to the days where I was the non-athlete in school; where I wasn't chosen for the basketball team in Junior High because I wasn't 'aggressive enough'.

This year however, I'm kinda taken by them. Well, only the swimming. This Michael Phelps kid is something incredible. Not only is his body the body of a God, but he's like a super-fish. That man can swim like nothing I have ever seen. Anyways, he just won his 10th gold medal. Um, holla?!

ps - I know he's American but seriously, the Canadian? Wasn't he gone in the first round? Have to root for someone!

Classic Super Troopers Goodness.

Ahhhh Super Troopers. Saw this movie with my brothers years and years ago and to this day, it remains one of my top movies. Sure, call me simple or pathetic. But this movie is clearly a classic. And with all those one liners? Ha! I've got a couple of my favourites here for your viewing pleasure.

"Not so funny, meow, now is it?"

"I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy who says 'Shenanigans'"...

"Do you want me to punchisize your face, for free?"

Oh thank the Lord!

My favourite waste of time is coming upon us again!

Punch a beaver in the face, eh.

On last night's episode of The Colbert Report, Colbert had a good chuckle over our premiers reaction when he found out the CBC was going to let go of our second national anthem, the Hockey Night in Canada tune.

In case you were wondering if you should run out and rent Alien vs. Predator Requiem...

... seriously. Don't even think about it. Slap yourself now if you are thinking about it.

Ugh.

Instead, you should run out and rent Into the Wild. Even if you do it just to hear the soundtrack by Eddie Vedder. So good.

I watched an hour and a half worth of infomercials last night and you know what? They won.

I decided since my skin believes I'm a 13 year old who is going through puberty, I once again need to figure something out regarding how to have flawless skin. Was on ProActiv for a bit and I seriously thought my skin was burning off my face (read the ingredients label and you'll find windshield washer fluid in it). In fact, it made my skin worse. Then it was Garnier Pure. Cute. Worked on the Coast - but - my skin completely clears up when I'm on the Coast. Maybe someone needs to bottle salty sea air and sell it...

Anyways, this infomercial, which I have seen a couple times before, intrigued me.

It's called Murad and the face stuff is super pricey if you buy it individually from the stores. Like, hella pricey. Like, I would need to decide between car payments and skin care pricey. But because they are so wonderful and "sincerely" want to help out all the people with shit skin, they have a cute little package which is cheaper and apparently gets the job done. So, for the low price of $36 I am their newest guinea pig.

If this doesn't work, I don't know what will.

Who Loves the Sun

Absolutely I love the sun. Did I enjoy the movie? I'll think about it. It won lots of awards and had lots of profanity and a deep plot... the heart was in it.

What I do know is that I now have a raging crush on lead actor, Lukas Haas. Who is this guy? How come I've never heard of him before?

I love tv... -or - How desperately I need a new hobby.

I'm loving reality TV as of late. It's unfortunate really but really, who doesn't enjoy a little scripted reality show at the end of a 9-5 day?

Anyways, one of my favourites (besides The Hills) is Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. I was pretty disheartened to find out that the season which is on right now is actually the first season which means this sleaze bag has had more than one round of this. Regardless, I'm addicted. These girls are hos. Although, I'm mildly attracted to Jes. She's hot.

Apparently, (spoiler alert if you actually watch this show) she's the winner... but they don't actually do anything past the show (as she's way too good for him) which is the reason he has season 2. Next.

America's Most Smartest Model. Enough said... or is it. This show is retarded. I need not say anything more.

The Bachelor: London Calling, is what reminds all women of how not to act. Seriously ladies - who sings opera to impress a man? Ok, maybe I haven't tried it myself yet but judging by the look on the British Bachelor (and by the rose ceremony which resulted in her going bye-bye) he was nonplussed too. And then there was Shaye. She is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas (and apparently we should all know who Lorenzo Lamas is. Ok - I'm only 25. I didn't watch Renegade.

Anyways, she had the funniest line last show. Her answer made my time watching reality tv well spent (when I could have spent it doing things like - reading Nanocasm). In response to the question what makes her high-maintenance, the air-bronzed 22-year-old listed the five things she believed mattered most when it came to her appearance: cars, shoes, (ohmigod) handbags, sunglasses, and watches. "With those things covered, no one cares what you're wearing on your body." It's so comforting to know that with girls like that, our future is safe.

And people make fun of brunettes. I should probably watch something on Discovery or something to try and seem smarter. Or heck, turn off the TV.

Mine = Natural. Hers = Uber Fake.

So The Hills premiere was on last night. Did anyone else curl up in bed and watch it or was that just me...

Anyways, did anyone else notice the weird lips on Ms. Heidi? She's a freak to begin with but her lips were looked almost alien like...

So the show was great; makes me want to work for a fashion magazine and get swept up in the uber drama that traveling to fancy Balls would create for me.

In case you haven't watched the past 4 (or so) seasons of The Hills...

... you can get caught up here.

And in case you didn't know... it begins again on Monday. Yippee!

"Show seeks to love match migrants and U.S. citizens"

Maybe it's seriously time to end the writer's strike...

PHOENIX (Reuters) - A Los Angeles company is touting a new reality game show called "Who Wants to Marry a U.S. Citizen" that aims to create televised matrimony between legal citizens and immigrants who have temporary visas.

The show's backers at Morusa Media hope to make a sort of love match between reality TV and a national obsession with immigration. But the producers make no promise that a marriage will occur or lead to U.S. citizenship.

Show creator Adrian Martinez said that Morusa Media has not yet found a network to produce or air the show, but he is currently in talks with one cable TV network and already has signed up contestants for six episodes.

"It's this generation's 'Dating Game,' but with a twist -- it aims to show love knows no borders," Martinez told Reuters.

As in the "Dating Game," which ran on network TV for more than two decades starting in the 1960s, a single U.S. citizen gets to ask contestants various questions. Toward the end of the show, he or she decides which one to select as a potential mate.

So far, most of the contestants are Hispanic immigrants, although at least one is from the Philippines, Martinez said.

In a statement, Morusa said that while it does not guarantee marriage or legal status, it will pay for a wedding party and honeymoon should a marriage result.

"We're just out to play matchmaker," said the show's host, Angelo Gonzales. "There are thousands of U.S. citizens seeking a spouse, and just as many immigrants seeking the same. So we want to make it a win-win situation for all involved."
