A couple things I learned in Mexico.

  • Spicy Avocado Pringles are delicious. Absolutely delicious.
  • There is nothing wrong with drinking at 9 a.m. Nothing at all.
  • Meercats / Merkeets are super friendly... especially when you feed them.
  • There is nothing wrong with being topless on the beach. And no, I will not be posting those pictures to Facebook or this Blog.
  • Fallen in love with guacamole and pico de gallo. Where have they been all my life?
  • Nachos in Mexico are totally different than nachos in let's say... Calgary.
  • Finding Mexican food in Mexico is actually more of a task than one would think it would be.
  • $35 is never $35.
  • Lizards and geckos aren't as creepy as Jessica makes them out to be. They're cute and... cuddly...
  • My body is going through with drawl. What I would do to have a strawberry margartita - 'mooey-forte'.
  • There is nothing more fantastic than the feeling of the white sand on your feet. Mamitas Beach Club in Playa del Carmen was incredible.
  • People get super cranky on the flight back to Calgary. It was the first time in a long time I wanted to call a lady a "c u next tuesday".
  • Mexican road-ways are f'd up.
  • If you are going to Chitchen Itza for the day for a tour - rent a plane or a helicopter or a time-warp machine. Trust me - it will be way less painful than sitting in a stinky sweaty bus for 4 hours... each way...
  • You can drink booze everywhere. On the streets, on the beach, in the bus, in the shower - everywhere. What a great rule.
  • Being in a place where there was no internet, news, cell phones, Visa bills and street lights was fantastic.
  • Wouldn't it be great if you could give your waitress, bartender, taxi driver or bell boy a $1 tip? It's too bad they would wouldn't be as grateful as when you do that in Mexico.
  • I cannot wait to go back.
